Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

Responsible for preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of CNC, VMC, laser cutting, CNC bending machines, compressors, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and other mechanical equipment to ensure maximum machine availability and minimum downtime.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of CNC, VMC, laser cutting, and CNC bending machines.
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and attend machine breakdowns promptly.
• Inspect and maintain:
• Bearings and bushes
• Ball screws and linear guides
• Couplings and gearboxes
• Hydraulic systems and cylinders
• Pneumatic systems and cylinders
• Pumps and lubrication systems
• Machine slides and guideways
• Tool changers and machine mechanisms
• Cooling and lubrication systems
• Conveyors and material-handling systems
• Carry out alignment, leveling, lubrication, and mechanical adjustments of machines.
• Inspect machine vibration, abnormal noise, temperature, leakage, and mechanical wear.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic faults, including pressure loss, leakage, valve problems, and cylinder issues.
• Maintain and troubleshoot laser cutting machine mechanical systems, including cooling, gas lines, extraction systems, and moving mechanisms.
• Perform maintenance of CNC press brakes/bending machines, including hydraulic, mechanical, and tooling-related systems.
• Replace worn or damaged bearings, seals, belts, chains, couplings, gears, and other mechanical components.
• Carry out machine installation, shifting, alignment, commissioning, and modification activities.
• Ensure proper lubrication schedules for all machines and maintain lubrication records.
• Coordinate with electrical/automation teams during machine breakdowns and maintenance activities.
• Maintain breakdown reports, preventive maintenance records, machine history cards, and checklists.
• Identify recurring failures and perform root-cause analysis.
• Maintain critical mechanical spare-parts inventory.
• Support planned shutdown and annual maintenance activities.
• Follow LOTO, PPE, machine safety, and maintenance safety procedures.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards in the maintenance area.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical maintenance.
• Experience with CNC/VMC machine mechanical maintenance.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of bearings, gearboxes, couplings, ball screws, linear guides, and lubrication systems.
• Ability to perform machine alignment and leveling.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Knowledge of pumps, compressors, conveyors, and utility equipment.
• Good troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices.
• Ability to use measuring instruments such as vernier caliper, micrometer, dial gauge, and other precision tools.

Qualification

• ITI / Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–5 years of relevant industrial maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience in CNC/VMC/laser cutting/press brake maintenance is an advantage.

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
