Job Position: Mechanical Operator, CPP

Job Location: Ashaka, Gombe

About the job

• Operate and monitor engines to ensure smooth, safe, and reliable operations; record operating parameters and maintain accurate shift reports for running and switching activities; conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring engine trips and support corrective actions; and conduct risk assessments with colleagues before undertaking inspections and maintenance activities.

What you'll be doing

• Start, run and stop operations of engines.
• Carry out any engine fitting jobs.
• Conduct risk assessment for all switching operations
• Maintain hourly records of engine running parameters and report any sharp deviations on the reading to section engineers and managers.
• Participate in RCA for generator failures and implement action plans.
• Maintain housekeeping of workshop.
• Conduct 1st level inspection and capture any abnormal condition.
• Train/coach one Trainee on Engines operation

Requirements

• Hands-on experience operating steam turbines, boilers, generators, pumps, compressors, and auxiliary systems.
• Minimum 3 Years of post qualification experience.
• Experience performing plant start-up, shutdown, equipment changeover, and routine operational monitoring.
• Experience identifying and responding to equipment abnormalities, trips, leaks, vibration, pressure, and temperature deviations.
• Experience with basic mechanical maintenance, lubrication, equipment inspection, and fault reporting.
• Experience handling emergency situations and equipment isolation while following PTW, LOTO, and power plant safety procedures.
