Mechanical Pipe Fitter

Mechanical Pipe Fitter - Parker Point - CWSS Commissioning Support Works We are seeking experienced Mechanical Pipefitters to support commissioning works on the Parker Point CWSS.

Mechanical Pipe Fitter roles are initially being offered on a 6-month basis with a possibility for extension and will operate on a 2:1 roster.

Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and working collaboratively within a commissioning team to deliver project milestones.

Role Requirements

• Install, maintain, dismantle and refit large-bore pipework up to 600 mm in diameter.
• Install, maintain and align centrifugal pumps, couplings and mechanical seals.
• Perform mechanical fitting duties on industrial equipment, including rotary valves, screw conveyors, and manual and pneumatic butterfly valves.
• Remove, inspect and refit strainers on 350NB, 400NB and 600NB pipework systems.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, piping isometric drawings and equipment layout drawings.
• Complete greenlining mark-ups to record changes to pipework and drawings as required.
• Assist with reverse osmosis (RO) membrane fitting where required.
• Support mechanical installation, inspection, testing and commissioning activities in accordance with project specifications and site procedures.
• Work collaboratively with commissioning, operations and other trades to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
• Follow site safety procedures, permit-to-work requirements and isolation protocols while completing all tasks.

Licences and Tickets

• Current Trade Certificate in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent
• Strong understanding of piping systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical principles
• Valid WA Driver's Licence
• Rio Tinto inducted applicants will be highly regarded
• Current HLTAID003 Provide First Aid
• Current HLTAID001 Provide Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation certificate (within previous 12 months).
