Mechanical Project Engineer

We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and technically strong Mechanical Project Engineer to support our Engineering/Projects Department on new MEP projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating mechanical works on site, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the required quality standards.

Candidates with previous HVAC experience are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, supervise, and coordinate mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting) on site.
• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements, and follow up for approvals.
• Coordinate with the main contractor, consultant, client representatives, and other trades.
• Prepare and update the work programme and monitor progress against it.
• Manage site supervisors, foremen, technicians, and subcontractors.
• Raise material requests and inspection requests, and follow up with the consultant for approvals.
• Support the QS team with quantities, measurements, variations, and progress billing.
• Ensure works are executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and authority requirements.
• Monitor site quality and HSE compliance.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover of mechanical systems.
• Prepare progress reports and maintain project records and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 to 12 years of experience in mechanical MEP projects.
• Strong experience in HVAC systems (chilled water, ducting, VRF/split systems, ventilation).
• Good knowledge of plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
• Good knowledge of site coordination, shop drawing review, and project documentation.
• Working knowledge of UAE authority approvals (DCD, Dubai Municipality).
• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD; MS Project or Primavera is an advantage.
• Good communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
