Lead one of the most technically demanding parts of the project

If you're an experienced Mechanical Project Manager and you're ready to take ownership of a major data centre project, this is an opportunity to step into a role with genuine scale, complexity and responsibility.

You'll lead the mechanical package from pre-construction and mobilisation through installation, commissioning and final handover. That means you'll have a direct influence on programme, delivery, commercial performance and the relationship with the client.

You'll be working across complex mechanical systems including HVAC, pipework and associated building services, while leading project teams, design teams and specialist subcontractors.

For someone who enjoys technically challenging projects and wants to take their project management experience to the next level, there's plenty here to get your teeth into.

What you'll be doing

You'll take ownership of the mechanical delivery, including:

• Leading the mechanical package through pre-construction, installation, commissioning and handover
• Managing HVAC, mechanical services, pipework and associated building services
• Developing programmes, procurement plans, resources and delivery strategies
• Coordinating clients, consultants, designers, subcontractors and internal teams
• Managing site teams and subcontractors to maintain programme, quality and safety
• Controlling costs, variations, forecasting and overall commercial performance
• Resolving technical and programme issues as they arise
• Leading testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning and system turnover
• Managing completion, snagging, documentation and final handover
• Maintaining the client relationship throughout delivery and into the warranty period
• Supporting and developing engineers and junior members of the project team

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who already knows how to deliver complex mechanical construction projects and can take ownership rather than simply manage a checklist.

You'll need:

• Significant Mechanical Project Management experience within construction
• Strong HVAC and building services experience
• Experience delivering technically complex projects from pre-construction through to handover
• Experience in a data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, critical infrastructure or similarly complex environment
• Strong commercial awareness across procurement, cost control, variations and forecasting
• The ability to lead project teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders and subcontractors
• A relevant Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or equivalent qualification

Experience with process pipework, BMS and mechanical utilities would also be useful.
