MECHANICAL QS ENGINEER (LICENSED)

About the role

This role involves preparing cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQs), and project documentation for mechanical works. You will estimate material, labor, and overall project costs, maintain historical cost data, and review design changes to revise project budgets. You will interpret project specifications and client requirements, conduct site visits to verify project information and estimate accuracy, and prepare bid and tender documents including cost estimates and schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, BOQs, and project documentation
• Estimate material, labor, and overall project costs
• Maintain and update historical cost data
• Review design changes and revise project budgets
• Interpret project specifications and client requirements
• Conduct site visits to verify project information and estimate accuracy
• Prepare bid and tender documents, including cost estimates and schedules
• Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and company requirements
• Prepare BOQ and VO costs for projects
• Coordinate with project teams throughout the estimating and tendering process

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Professional License, required)
• At least 3 years of experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, cost control, and mechanical works evaluation
• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying, construction methods, and cost estimating
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cost estimating software
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
