Mechanical Service Engineer

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Service/Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a permanent basis, with the prospects of developing a successful Service and Installations Dept. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of mechanical equipment and systems. The ideal applicant will possess strong problem-solving skills, a "can do" attitude, and relevant technical qualifications. Salary is dependant on experience and success in the position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment to minimise downtime.
• Attend customer installations, diagnose faults accurately using diagnostic tools and techniques, then implement effective repair solutions promptly.
• Install, overhaul, repair, and replace mechanical components such as pumps and pumping equipment in addition to water treatment equipment.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe working practices.
• Participate in emergency repairs to minimise operational disruptions.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Service Engineer or similar role within industrial or manufacturing environments. Minimum 6 years.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and associated diagnostic tools.
• Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent recognised certification.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.

Pay: £31,200.00-£38,000.00 per year
