Mechanical Shift Fitter

Nelson Pine Industries Ltd operates a large modern Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL) production line alongside three Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) lines at its Richmond site. They have built an excellent reputation for the quality and consistency of their products, reliability of supply, sustainable low environmental impact management practices and commitment to product and production development.

Nelson Pine Industries are currently looking to employ a Mechanical Fitter to support their operation and take responsibility for completing repairs and maintenance and undertaking modifications and installations to maintain the smooth operation of the plant equipment.

Working with an experienced and supportive team this role works 12 weeks of rotating 3-day shift pattern that includes day shifts and night shifts then 6 weeks of days, Mon- Fri then back to shift. With a generous hourly rate there are a number of shift allowances to cover shift work and weekend work as well as a tool allowance.
  
This is a great opportunity for an experienced mechanical fitter interested in working with machinery and new technology. A trade registered fitter with experience of working in a heavy manufacturing environment would be an advantage. Key to your success will be your collaborative and approachable interpersonal style. Happy and productive working independently you also foster positive and effective working relationships with the wider engineering and production teams.  With a knack for problem solving, you’ll have strong analytical skills, high work standards and an unwavering commitment to Health and Safety.
