Mechanical Specialist/Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Specialist to support the reliability, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production equipment, utilities, and mechanical systems. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, machine fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, water systems, and equipment optimization to ensure maximum operational efficiency and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of production machinery and mechanical systems.
• Analyze equipment failures and identify root causes to prevent recurring issues.
• Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
• Ensure timely completion of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Oversee maintenance of pneumatic, hydraulic, water supply, and other facility mechanical systems.

Equipment Reliability & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and implement strategies to improve equipment uptime and reliability.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action initiatives.
• Recommend equipment upgrades, modifications, and process improvements.
• Support machine installations, commissioning activities, and equipment validations.

Fabrication & Technical Support

• Support machine fabrication, modification, and improvement projects.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance documentation, equipment sketches, and work instructions.
• Ensure appropriate use of measuring instruments, fabrication tools, and maintenance equipment.

Utilities & Facility Support

• Monitor plant utilities including water systems and related mechanical infrastructure.
• Ensure functionality and compliance of safety-related mechanical systems.
• Coordinate with internal departments and external contractors during repair and maintenance activities.

Safety & Compliance

• Adhere to company safety policies, food safety standards, and maintenance procedures.
• Conduct maintenance work in accordance with safe work practices and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, industrial equipment, manufacturing, or related environments.
• Proven experience in machine troubleshooting, fabrication, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience supporting production machinery and utility systems in a manufacturing environment.
