Mechanical/ Structural Supervisor NPI

You will join a major greenfield copper project in Queensland as a Supervisor overseeing Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) installation works. With a trade background and strong practical site experience, you will coordinate contractors and manage the installation of structural steel, mechanical equipment, piping, pumping systems and fuel infrastructure.

Your scope will include workshop installations, steelwork, pumping equipment and fuel systems, ensuring contractors complete works safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications and quality requirements. You will coordinate installation activities, resolve site issues and work closely with the wider project team to maintain progress across multiple work fronts.

Working on a 2:1 FIFO roster, you will have departure options from Brisbane or Townsville. You will join an established site team, working alongside other supervisors to coordinate activities, maintain continuity between shifts and support the successful delivery of critical infrastructure on this greenfield

copper project.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise structural steel, mechanical and piping installation works

  • Manage contractors delivering pumping systems and fuel infrastructure

  • Coordinate workshop installations and associated mechanical services

  • Monitor subcontractor performance, work quality and construction progress

  • Ensure installation works comply with drawings, specifications and site standards

  • Coordinate installation procedures, inspections and quality documentation

  • Identify and resolve construction issues and installation challenges

  • Promote safe work practices and compliance with site safety requirements

  • Coordinate with other supervisors to manage interfaces and work handovers

  • Maintain effective communication with project engineers and site leadership

About you

• Trade-qualified with a background in mechanical, structural, steelwork or piping disciplines

  • Proven experience supervising contractors on mining or major construction projects

  • Strong understanding of structural steel, mechanical installations and piping systems

  • Experience with pumping systems, fuel facilities or industrial workshop installations

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, installation procedures and specifications

  • Strong focus on safety, quality assurance and construction compliance

  • Effective communication, coordination and contractor management skills

  • Able to make sound decisions and resolve site issues in a practical manner

  • Collaborative approach when working with engineers, supervisors and construction teams

  • Valid Australian work rights and ability to meet site onboarding requirements
