Mechanical Supervisor

Ready to make two weeks on shutdown actually worth it?

This is a short, sharp shutdown opportunity at Olympic Dam from 30 August to 13 September, offering strong hourly rates and 12-hour shifts across both day and night shift.

Turn up, lead well, get the job done safely and make the shutdown count.

The opportunity

You're the person crews look to when the pressure is on.

You know how to keep mechanical works moving, maintain standards and make sure everyone goes home safely at the end of the shift.

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to join a shutdown team at Olympic Dam, South Australia, for a two-week campaign from 30 August to 13 September.

This is an opportunity for someone who knows shutdown environments, can lead from the front and wants to maximise their earning potential over a concentrated roster.

Structured. Supported. Productive.

Your role

You'll be responsible for supervising mechanical crews and ensuring shutdown works are completed safely, efficiently and to schedule.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and coordinating mechanical trades across the shutdown
• Running pre-starts, toolbox talks and daily work planning
• Monitoring productivity, quality and progress against shutdown schedules
• Ensuring all work is completed in line with site safety procedures and permits
• Coordinating labour, equipment and work fronts throughout each shift
• Working closely with site management, planners and other supervisors
• Identifying issues early and keeping works moving safely
• Maintaining clear shift handovers and accurate reporting
• Driving a strong safety culture across the crew

No corner cutting. Just clear expectations, strong supervision and a shutdown team focused on delivery.

What's in it for you

• $74 per hour day shift
• $85 per hour night shift
• 12-hour shifts
• Two-week shutdown from 30 August to 13 September
• Strong earning potential across a concentrated shutdown
• Olympic Dam shutdown experience to add to your project history
• A short-term opportunity without committing to a long-term project
• Work with an experienced shutdown crew at one of Australia's major mining operations

Strong rates. Serious hours. Two weeks that can make a meaningful difference to the bank balance.

About you

You'll ideally bring:

• Previous Mechanical Supervisor experience within mining, shutdowns, heavy industry or major maintenance environments
• Strong mechanical trade knowledge and an understanding of shutdown execution
• Proven experience supervising trades and maintaining productivity
• A strong commitment to safety and site procedures
• Confidence running pre-starts, coordinating crews and managing changing priorities
• Clear communication and leadership skills
• The ability to stay calm and make decisions in a fast-moving shutdown environment
• Relevant trade qualifications and current site-required tickets

You're the calm in the chaos. You make complex work look organised, and you know a successful shutdown comes down to preparation, communication and execution.

Why now

Shutdown opportunities like this are about timing.

Two weeks. 12-hour shifts. $74/hr days or $85/hr nights.

If you've got availability from 30 August to 13 September, this is the chance to lock in a solid earning block at Olympic Dam.

Shortlisting is happening now.

Next steps

If you're available for the shutdown and have the Mechanical Supervisor experience we're looking for, apply now or contact Jaslyn Angue directly for a confidential conversation.

We're available after hours and weekends, so your timing is never an issue.

You've built the experience. Now put it to work somewhere that pays for it.
