  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards
  • Conduct inspections and monitor welding outputs to ensure workmanship and compliance requirements are met
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of welders and trades assistants
  • Work closely with planners to coordinate and optimise work fronts and project schedules
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety interactions and promote a strong HSEQ culture
  • Liaise with QA/QC, engineering, subcontractors and client representatives to resolve technical and operational issues
  • Ensure welding equipment, consumables and materials are available and fit for purpose
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reports and records in line with project and regulatory requirements

About you

You're an experienced Mechanical Supervisor with a strong background leading welding activities in mining, construction or heavy industrial environments. You have extensive Cert 10 welding experience, a proven ability to lead high-performing teams, and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Trade qualification (Cert III Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent)
  • Extensive Cert 10 welding experience, with a strong understanding of welding procedures, standards and quality requirements
  • Minimum 5+ years' experience supervising welding and mechanical works within mining, construction or heavy industry
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, materials, inspection requirements and Australian Standards
  • Demonstrated experience working with QA/QC processes, welding documentation and compliance requirements
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach and develop site-based teams
  • A strong commitment to HSEQ and promoting a zero-harm culture
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across planning, engineering, QA and subcontractor teams
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced project environment
