Mechanical Technician

About the role

This role involves performing preventive and corrective maintenance of production machines and equipment in a food manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot mechanical problems, conduct regular inspections, and respond promptly to equipment concerns to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of production machines and equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform necessary repairs
• Conduct regular inspection of machinery and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
• Assist in machine installation, modification, and commissioning
• Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and production equipment concerns
• Perform lubrication, adjustment, replacement, and repair of mechanical components
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment conditions
• Coordinate with Production and other departments regarding equipment-related concerns
• Ensure compliance with company safety, GMP, and food manufacturing standards

About you

• Graduate of Mechanical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical course (preferred)
• Experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in a food manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred)
• Knowledgeable in troubleshooting and repair of production machinery
• Familiarity with pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pneumatic systems, and other mechanical components
• Able to read and understand basic mechanical drawings and equipment manuals
• Willing to work on a shifting schedule, weekends, and holidays when required
• Physically fit and capable of performing hands-on maintenance work
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to safety
