Technician, Mechanical Maintenance (Onshore)

Reports to: Team Leader, Onshore Maintenance (Mechanical)

Department / Section: Maintenance Department/ Onshore Maintenance

JOB PURPOSE:

• Perform preventive, breakdown, and shutdown mechanical maintenance activities of plant equipment

to support production, quality, and safety requirements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Job Specific:

• Carry out assigned routine and preventive maintenance, including replacing worn or damaged

parts and arranging for test runs as necessary to ensure safe operations.

• Perform major overhaul of equipment, check clearances precisely, and determine the

usage/replacement of parts for continuous equipment availability.

• Participate in the diagnosis of faults of a more complex nature, inspect and test completed work

to ensure equipment efficient performance in accordance with requirements.

• Verify and issue comprehensive daily activity reports outlining the cause of the fault, the nature of

the work, and the materials, labour, and time taken to complete the task to ensure that the job is

performed as per requirement.

• Identify and obtain spare parts and the necessary tools to meet maintenance requirements.
• Carry out new installations, modifications, and testing of equipment through various stages as per

plan and in line with supervisors instructions and check adherence to all parameters.

• Identify areas for improvement in the activities performed and assist the senior section personnel

to carry out modifications and improvements to the system.

• Complete necessary records in the system to provide work order failure history reporting. Provide

input for the preparation of Method statements and initiate Near miss reports.

• Update and maintain drawings, records, and other documents related to the mechanical

maintenance for continuous availability.

• Perform maintenance activities on mechanical components such as pumps, valves, compressors,

fans, blowers, and heat exchangers.

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards during maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with other technicians and departments to ensure smooth operations and

maintenance processes.

• This position will handle activities within Red Zone and involves continuous exposure to high-risk

environments containing elevated concentrations of hydrogen sulphide (H2S), requiring strict

adherence to safety protocols and use of specialized protective equipment.

• Personnel assigned to this role are required to perform their duties exclusively within the

designated Red Zone, utilizing Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) at all times. Access

to this area is granted only upon successful completion of a comprehensive medical evaluation

specific to the Red Zone and fulfillment of all mandatory hydrogen sulfide (H2S) safety training

requirements. Special authorization is issued to eligible employees, ensuring that only qualified

personnel operate within these high-risk conditions.

Generic:

Supervision & People Development

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
• Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job

and deliver the respective section objectives.

Operational Plans

• Develop consistent and realistic long and short term operational plans for the Department in line with

the Division objectives and manage the implementation of the approved long and short term plans and

ensure they are effectively converted into its performance objectives to realise the Division Objectives

and established service levels.

Budgets and Cost Control

• Develop and manage the Department annual budget in line with the Divisions business objectives and

operational plans ensuring that adequate funding provision is made for all Department activities.

• Monitor expenditure against approved Department budget on a regular basis; investigate, highlight and

reconcile any significant variances to ensure effective performance and cost control.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

• Develop and implement appropriate Department policies, processes, systems, standards, procedures

and internal controls, Company guidelines in order to support execution of the Divisions work programs

in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

• Contribute to the development of the Divisions KPIs and ensure proper cascade of the Performance

objectives within the Department and establish monitoring mechanisms to ensure delivery of these

objectives and promote a performance driven culture.

• Manage the implementation of the Company Performance Management System for individuals within

the Department in accordance with Company approved guidelines.

People Development

• Develop knowledge, competencies and innovative spirit in the Department and support the

establishment of Succession Planning and Talent pipeline within the Department in coordination with

the Human Capital to continuously develop employees with emphasis on UAE Nationals to meet

Emiratization targets.

Organisation Structure and Development

• Review, develop and recommend the appropriate organisation structure for the Department that will

best utilise human capital while proactively incorporating sustainability into the on-going work practices

to meet the business objectives.

Risk Management

• Contribute and support establishment of a Corporate Integrated Risk Management System within the

Department, while identifying and assessing relevant domain risks and implement measures to manage

and mitigate all identified risks within the Department.

• Communicate corporate business ethics and Companys Code of Conduct to employees within the

Department and ensure compliance to the Corporate Policies and guidelines.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Promote an organisation culture that encourages innovation, enhances employee motivation and

supports initiatives for implementation of Change Management to continuously improve the Department

operations and services.

• Recommend improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency

in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the

Department.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

• Ensure adequate HSE training and induction for all Department employees to meet HSE standards.

Management Reports

• Ensure that all Department MIS and progress reports are prepared to provide accurate and timely

reports and necessary information to Company Management to effectively manage the business.

6. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Minimum Qualification

• Technical Diploma or Secondary School Certificate with a vocational trade certificate in the relevant

field.

Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills

• 4 years of experience in the relevant field.

• Face to face interviews WILL BE CONDUCTED in Mumbai @ November 2026 second week
