Mechanical Technician (OWN VISA) Required

Job Purpose

The Mechanical Technician will be responsible for carrying out installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and servicing of mechanical equipment and systems. The candidate should have hands-on experience in industrial, plant, utility, construction, or maintenance environments and be able to work safely according to approved procedures and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Carry out dismantling, inspection, repair, servicing, assembly, and installation of mechanical components.
• Assist in maintenance of pumps, valves, piping systems, gearboxes, compressors, mechanical drives, and other rotating/static equipment.
• Perform alignment, fitting, bolting, tightening, replacement of gaskets, bearings, seals, and other mechanical parts.
• Identify mechanical faults and assist in troubleshooting equipment failures.
• Read and understand mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, specifications, and work instructions.
• Use mechanical hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, and workshop equipment safely.
• Support equipment installation, shutdown, turnaround, and maintenance activities as required.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working condition.
• Follow Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE, and all applicable HSE procedures.
• Report equipment defects, abnormalities, and maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
• Complete maintenance checklists, job reports, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other technicians to complete assigned work within the required schedule.
• Perform other mechanical maintenance duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualification & Experience

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Fitting, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant experience as a Mechanical Technician, Mechanical Fitter, or similar position.
• Experience in industrial plants, power plants, utilities, manufacturing facilities, marine, construction, or mechanical maintenance projects is preferred.
• Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, tools, fitting practices, and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to understand mechanical drawings and technical instructions.
• Basic knowledge of workplace safety and industrial HSE requirements.

Preferred Requirements

• UAE/GCC industrial experience is an advantage.
• Valid UAE driving licence is an advantage.
• Relevant safety or technical certifications are preferred.
• Candidates available for immediate mobilization will be given preference.
