Allied Recruitment is looking for an experienced Mechanical Trade Assistant to join a well-established workshop team in Welshpool!

This is a casual role with full-time hours, offering ongoing work within a specialist manufacturing environment focused on safety, quality and reliable workmanship.

You’ll be working in a hands-on workshop environment supporting the manufacture and assembly of equipment for the mining industry. This is a great opportunity to join an experienced team with the potential for longer-term employment.

About the Company
Our client is an established WA manufacturer supplying specialised equipment and solutions to the mining industry. Based in Welshpool, their workshop undertakes a range of manufacturing, fabrication and mechanical assembly work within a structured, safety-focused environment.

The Opportunity
We are looking for a dependable Mechanical Trade Assistant to join the workshop team. You will support qualified tradespeople, including Mechanical Fitters and Spray Painters, across day-to-day workshop activities, material handling and general mechanical duties.

This position would suit someone with previous manufacturing experience, good mechanical aptitude and a willingness to get involved across a range of hands-on tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Mechanical Fitters and Spray Painters with daily workshop tasks
• Operate a forklift to safely transport and position materials
• Complete basic mechanical and workshop support duties
• Clean, lubricate and assist with mechanical parts and assemblies
• Handle materials and maintain clean and organised work areas
• Safely use a range of hand and power tools
• Follow site safety procedures and workshop requirements

What You’ll Bring

• Current Forklift Licence

• Previous experience within a mechanical, manufacturing or workshop environment

• Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of workshop safety

• Current driver's licence and reliable transport (HR-B Manual Licence - Desirable)

• Ability to pass a pre-employment Drug & Alcohol test

• A reliable attitude and ability to work effectively within a team

What’s on Offer

• Competitive pay rate of $46.23 per hour (inclusive of casual loading) + overtime penalties

• Consistent full-time hours, Monday to Friday

• 6:00am starts with 8–10 hour shifts
