the design, integration, and testing of sensor systems that blend mechanical, software, and
networking disciplines.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience, including internships, and be
comfortable working in a remote, self-organizing team environment. You’ll be supporting
senior engineers across multiple active programs, helping to shape cutting-edge technology used
in national defense and geospatial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide mechanical design support for aerospace sensor systems and related technologies
  • Develop CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks
  • Support ground, bench, and flight testing of systems
  • Perform feasibility studies and trade-space analyses
  • Reduce and analyze test data and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate with software developers and data engineers to support integrated systems
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of networked data systems (servers, cloud, and localized devices)
  • Author white papers, technical reports, and customer-facing documentation
  • Participate in business development efforts, including proposal development and pipeline research
  • Travel as needed to support testing, integration, or customer engagement

Qualifications

Required:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering; Master’s preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience (including no more than 2 years of internships) in mechanical engineering roles supporting integrated systems
  • Aerospace experience with unmanned or manned aircraft systems
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and MATLAB; experience with programming (C++ or C#) a plus
  • Familiarity with data/network architectures and cloud-based systems
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a U.S. security clearance (up to TS/SCI)

Preferred:

  • Experience working with sensor systems in aviation or geospatial environments
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices or pair programming
  • Knowledge of defense or government acquisition processes

What We Offer

  • Flexible remote work environment
  • Professional development and continuing education support
  • Opportunity to contribute to national security and cutting-edge aerospace technology
  • Collaborative, mission-driven team culture
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
