What they need

Mechatronics Engineer – Advanced Robotics

Location: San Francisco Bay Area | On-site

Salary: Up to $250k base + Equity

We're partnering with a well-funded, high-growth engineering company developing advanced robotic and electromechanical systems for large-scale industrial applications.

The business combines robotics, automation and complex hardware engineering to solve challenging real-world problems. With significant investment and ambitious growth plans, the team offers an opportunity to design, build and deploy physical systems that move quickly from prototype to operation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop robotic and electromechanical systems, taking hardware from initial concept through prototyping, testing and deployment.
  • Integrate mechanical mechanisms, actuators, motors, sensors and control systems into reliable robotic platforms.
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical and software engineers to develop, troubleshoot and optimise complex systems.
  • Build, test and iterate on hardware, taking ownership of system performance, reliability and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in mechatronics, robotics, mechanical engineering or a related hardware-focused discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience integrating mechanical, electrical and software systems, ideally within robotics, automation or autonomous machinery.
  • Proficiency in CAD, prototyping, electromechanical design and hardware testing, with an understanding of motors, actuators and sensors.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced engineering environments, independently solving complex technical problems and taking ownership of projects.

Why Join

  • Join a well-funded, rapidly scaling technology company tackling complex physical engineering challenges.
  • Work on advanced robotic systems with real-world applications, rather than purely research-focused projects.
  • Enjoy significant technical ownership, with the opportunity to influence designs from concept through deployment.
  • Work alongside a highly capable, multidisciplinary engineering team in a hands-on, fast-moving environment.
