Mechnical Draftsman

Job Summary

Nowa Star Engineering Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced Mechanical Draftsman with strong practical knowledge of HVAC, Fire Fighting, and Plumbing systems.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate engineering drawings, shop drawings, coordination drawings, as-built drawings, and detailed layouts in accordance with project specifications, consultant requirements, applicable codes, and engineering standards.

The ideal candidate should be capable of working independently from architectural drawings, design calculations, equipment schedules, and engineers' instructions.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed HVAC, Fire Fighting, and Plumbing drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop shop drawings from IFC, tender, architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Prepare coordinated MEP layouts and identify clashes between different services.
• Modify drawings according to consultant/client comments.
• Prepare accurate as-built drawings after completion of site works.
• Coordinate drawings with architectural, structural, electrical, and other building services.
• Maintain proper drawing numbering, revisions, legends, notes, and documentation.
• Prepare equipment installation details, sections, elevations, and schematic drawings.
• Assist engineers in preparing material quantities and BOQs where required.
• Coordinate with site engineers to incorporate actual site conditions into drawings.
• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications and applicable standards.
• Maintain drawing registers and revision records.
• Prepare drawings for consultant/client submission and approval.

Fire Fighting Drafting Responsibilities

The candidate should have knowledge of drawings related to:

• Fire Sprinkler Systems
• Fire Hydrant Systems
• Fire Hose Reel Systems
• Wet Riser Systems
• Dry Riser Systems
• Fire Pump Rooms
• Fire Water Tanks
• Fire Fighting Piping Networks
• Zone Control Valve Assemblies
• Alarm Check Valves
• Fire Department Connections
• Clean Agent Systems such as FM-200
• Fire Fighting Riser Diagrams
• Pump Room Details
• Fire Fighting Sections and Installation Details

The candidate should have basic familiarity with NFPA requirements applicable to fire protection drawings.

Plumbing Drafting Responsibilities

The candidate should be capable of preparing drawings for:

• Domestic Cold Water Supply
• Hot Water Systems
• Sanitary Drainage Systems
• Soil and Waste Systems
• Vent Piping
• Storm Water Drainage
• Underground Drainage
• Water Supply Risers
• Drainage Risers
• Plumbing Shafts
• Water Tanks
• Pumps
• Water Heaters
• Plumbing Fixtures
• Floor Drain and Cleanout Locations
• External Water and Drainage Networks
• Plumbing Schematics and Isometric Drawings

Coordination Responsibilities

The Mechanical Draftsman should be capable of coordinating:

• HVAC ductwork
• Chilled water piping
• Fire fighting piping
• Plumbing piping
• Electrical cable trays
• Lighting systems
• Structural beams
• Ceiling levels
• Architectural finishes
• Equipment access and maintenance clearances

The candidate should highlight potential clashes before drawings are issued for construction.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma / DAE in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting, or a related technical discipline.
• Relevant technical certification in AutoCAD drafting will be an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of relevant drafting experience in MEP projects.
• Practical experience in HVAC, Fire Fighting, and Plumbing drawings is required.
• Experience working with an MEP contractor, consultant, or construction company will be preferred.
• Experience on Saudi Arabian / GCC projects will be considered a strong advantage.

Software Skills

Strong working knowledge of:

• AutoCAD
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Office

Preference will be given to candidates familiar with:

• Revit MEP
• AutoCAD MEP

Technical Skills

The candidate should have:

• Strong understanding of MEP drawings.
• Ability to read architectural and structural drawings.
• Knowledge of HVAC ducting and piping systems.
• Understanding of fire fighting piping layouts.
• Understanding of plumbing and drainage systems.
• Knowledge of drawing scales, sections, elevations, details, and legends.
• Basic understanding of engineering calculations and equipment schedules.
• Understanding of pipe and duct sizing terminology.
• Familiarity with international engineering standards and drawing practices.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate, and constructible drawings.

Preferred Candidate

The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented Mechanical Draftsman who can independently prepare and coordinate HVAC, Fire Fighting, and Plumbing drawings from concept or IFC stage through shop drawings and final as-built documentation.

Candidates with experience in MEP contracting and Saudi Arabian/GCC projects, along with strong AutoCAD and Revit MEP skills, will be preferred.

Pay: Rs80,000.00 - Rs120,000.00 per month
