Duties and Responsibilities

• The Med Tech assists in developing, coordinating, and performing the tasks on the service plan according to the resident’s preferences and abilities

• Maintains and documents in the Medication Assistance Record

• Read and implement care/activities of daily living (ADLs) according to the resident service plan

• Respond to resident needs, pendant calls, and other community alarms in a timely manner.

• Demonstrates empathy and develops caring rapport with residents. Promotes resident independence and self-care.

• Delivers care and services in accordance with individual service plan for all assigned residents.

• Maintains accurate and complete records of care delivered.

• Completes incident reports accurately and timely. Understands policies pertaining to safety and infection control and demonstrates practices to control the spread of communicable illnesses. Promotes a clean, orderly, and safe environment. Assist housekeeping and maintenance staff to keep the community and resident property clean.

• Recognizes, responds to, and reports concerns in resident's environment to ensure safety and comfort of resident.

Qualifications: •    Must hold state required caregiver certification certification, complete state required delegation and/or training requirements, and successfully complete the medication pass competency •    Must have word processing skills •    Must have current CPR certification, First Aid training, and Food Handlers permit, And Fingerprint Clearance Card as required by state regulations •    Must complete all state required trainings as necessary •    High school diploma or GED or equivalent knowledge and skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience

The successful candidate must have the following prior to start:

• Caregiver Certification

• Med Tech Experience

• CPR Certification

• First Aid Certification

• Food Handler Certification

• Fingerprint Clearance Card

• TB 2-Step Skin Test
