We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care, particularly for individuals with developmental disabilities. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform medical documentation accurately and efficiently to ensure comprehensive patient records.
• Assist in the delivery of patient care, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as directed by healthcare professionals.
• Provide catheter care and support for patients requiring such assistance, ensuring comfort and adherence to hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams in hospitals or home care settings to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients.
• Engage with patients and their families, offering support and guidance while fostering a positive environment conducive to healing.
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, including HIPAA, while handling sensitive patient information.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance caregiving skills and knowledge of medical systems.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working in a hospital or home care setting is preferred.
• Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of medical documentation practices and systems used in healthcare settings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Knowledge of caregiving principles and practices related to patient care is essential.
• Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
