Join our dedicated healthcare team as a Medical Technician (Med Tech), where you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, high-quality patient care within senior living communities, nursing homes, or home and community care settings. As a Med Tech, you will be a key contributor to creating a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for individuals with diverse needs, including those with dementia, Alzheimer's, or disabilities. Your expertise will help ensure compliance with healthcare regulations while fostering trust and comfort among residents and their families.

Duties

• Administer medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols, including oral, topical, and tube feeding medications.
• Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration rates, and temperature to assess residents’ health status regularly.
• Assist residents with personal care activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility support, and hygiene to promote dignity and independence.
• Provide specialized care for residents with memory impairments or dementia, ensuring safety and comfort through tailored approaches like memory care techniques.
• Maintain detailed medical documentation using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Cerner or similar platforms to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support residents during activities of daily living (ADLs), including catheter care, wound management, and tube feeding procedures under supervision.
• Collaborate effectively with nursing staff and caregivers to communicate resident needs clearly and ensure seamless continuity of care while adhering to state healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home care environments with geriatric or disabled populations.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration procedures.
• Valid certification from the State Board of Nursing or equivalent licensing authority for Med Techs or Nurse Assistants.
• Hands-on experience with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Cerner or EHR systems for accurate documentation of patient information.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations along with a commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality at all times.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers; manual handling skills are essential.
• First aid and CPR certification required; additional certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) are preferred.
• Familiarity with hospice care practices, Alzheimer’s/dementia/memory care techniques, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for caregiver interactions and resident engagement; compassionate caregiving attitude is essential.

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
