What they need
Position Summary
The Media and Technology Manager is a hands-on position that combines digital communications, audio/visual production, and technology coordination in support of the worship and ministry of our large and active Episcopal parish. The Manager will report to the Director of Communications and help the church tell the story of our community with a dedicated team that works closely with and across all staff departments. We are looking for someone who is creative, technically capable, organized, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-moving environment. A strong candidate will have experience with A/V technology and live-streaming, digital content creation, social media, website management and general information technology.
Experience in a church, nonprofit, school, live-event, or similar environment is helpful but not required. Candidates should be comfortable working in a church environment and supportive of the mission and inclusive welcome of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd.
Good Shepherd is located on two campuses in Austin, Texas and is one of the largest and fastest growing Episcopal churches.
Position Responsibilities
Manage and maintain audio/visual equipment across Good Shepherd’s two campuses and coordinate repairs as needed.
Produce livestreams for Sunday worship, weddings, funerals, and other parish services and events.
Set up and operate A/V equipment for worship and parish events.
Create video, photography, and other digital content for parish communications.
Manage content for Good Shepherd’s social media channels.
Help maintain and update the parish website.
Serve as the primary staff liaison with Good Shepherd’s outside IT provider and coordinate staff technology needs.
Work Schedule
This is a full-time, Sunday–Thursday position. Because the role directly supports worship and parish events, flexibility for occasional evenings, weddings, funerals, holidays, and special events is required.
To Apply
Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter describing their interest in the position and relevant experience to [email protected]. Applicants with relevant video, photography, or digital-media experience are encouraged to include examples of their work.
