Duties

• Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately.
• Prepare examination rooms and assist healthcare providers during dermatology, hospital medicine, or urgent care procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy and medication administration under supervision to support patient diagnostics and treatment plans.
• Manage medical documentation including ICD coding, medical records, and detailed clinical notes to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Support medical office management tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining medical supplies inventory.
• Conduct basic physiology assessments and monitor patient vital signs to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
• Facilitate communication between patients and providers by answering questions, providing instructions, and ensuring a positive patient service experience.

Experience

• Prior medical office experience with a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
• Hands-on experience in dermatology clinics, hospital settings—including Level I or Level II trauma centers—and inpatient environments.
• Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) platforms for documentation and data management.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are preferred.
• Experience working in urgent care or emergency settings with exposure to ICD coding and hospital medicine is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of inpatient procedures including OR (Operating Room) experience or Level I trauma center protocols enhances your candidacy.
• Geriatrics experience is a plus for supporting diverse patient populations across various healthcare environments.
