Medical Assistant

About the Role

Westchase Orthopedics is seeking a dependable, organized, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our growing orthopedic practice.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment, communicates professionally with patients and providers, and takes ownership of keeping the clinical day organized and running efficiently.

Experience in orthopedics, spine, pain management, personal injury (PI), or workers’ compensation is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room patients for provider visits
• Obtain and document patient histories, medications, allergies, vitals, and chief complaints
• Assist providers during examinations and in-office procedures
• Accurately document information in the EMR
• Prepare charts and ensure necessary imaging, reports, and records are available before appointments
• Assist with provider orders, including imaging, DME, therapy, laboratory testing, and specialist referrals
• Communicate professionally with patients regarding treatment instructions and next steps
• Coordinate with front desk, referral, injection, and surgical teams to maintain continuity of care
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms
• Follow HIPAA, OSHA, and practice compliance requirements
• Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the clinic
• Complete assigned clinical tasks and follow-ups accurately and on time

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant experience preferred
• Orthopedic, spine, pain management, or specialty-practice experience strongly preferred
• PI and/or workers’ compensation experience is a plus
• Strong computer and EMR skills
• Excellent organization and attention to detail
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
• Comfortable working in a high-volume medical environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Schedule: Full-Time
Work Location: In Person — Tampa, Florida

Compensation: Competitive and based on experience.

Pay: $35,000.00 - $46,000.00 per year
