Medical Assistant

Allen County Cardiology is looking for a Medical Assistant to work in our Angola practice. Candidate must be detail-oriented, with exceptional communication and customer service skills. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to take initiative and work independently when necessary, able to multi-task, have the ability to work with a variety of patients and healthcare professionals.

Must have High school diploma, completion of a Medical Assisting program, some college preferred. Some traveling to other office locations will be required.

Job duties include the following:

• Verifying patient information and confirming purpose of the visit
• Recording past, family, social, and medical history
• Performing vitals
• Performing (EKGs)
• Explaining medical procedures to patients
• Assisting physicians
• Performing diagnostic and laboratory tests
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and available in patients’ medical records prior to their appointment
• Keep exam rooms stocked and cleaned with adequate medical supplies
• Taking telephone calls and answering questions from patients, physicians, and pharmacies
• All other duties assigned by office manager
