Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including recording vital signs and updating medical histories
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient visits
• Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and basic life support procedures
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records
• Support hospital medicine, urgent care, or dermatology clinics by coordinating patient flow and facilitating communication between patients and providers
• Conduct ICD coding and medical documentation to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
• Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions, explaining procedures, and ensuring a positive experience

Qualifications

• Proven medical office experience with familiarity in medical assisting roles across various specialties such as dermatology, hospital medicine, or urgent care
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology to support clinical duties effectively
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent required; additional certifications like phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus
• Experience working with EMR/EHR systems and managing electronic health records efficiently
• Strong understanding of ICD coding, medical documentation standards, and medical records management
• Inpatient experience or hospital environment exposure preferred; Level I or Level II trauma center experience is advantageous
