Medical Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, whether in a clinic, Level I or II Trauma Center, or hospital setting. The Medical Assistant will support healthcare professionals by performing administrative and clinical tasks, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in various settings including outpatient clinics and emergency medicine.
• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, medical histories, and assisting with physical exams.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and ensure efficient operations within the clinic or hospital environment.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic procedures as needed.
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic or hospital setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient assessments effectively.
• Familiarity with internal medicine practices and emergency medicine protocols is advantageous.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team in high-stress situations typical of Level I or II Trauma Centers.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to maintain accurate patient records.
• Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
