Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
• Assist healthcare providers with clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and wound care
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) accurately, including documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding, and medical records management
• Support medical office operations by scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and handling patient intake processes
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
• Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication instructions, and follow-up care
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate inpatient or outpatient services across various specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, or hospital medicine

Skills

• Proven experience in medical office settings with knowledge of medical terminology and physiology
• Strong understanding of dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or outpatient clinic environments
• Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management
• Skilled in phlebotomy, vital signs collection, and basic life support (BLS) certification
• Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations including geriatrics or pediatric patients
• Familiarity with ICD coding, pharmacology basics, and medication administration procedures
• Ability to manage medical documentation accurately while adhering to privacy regulations and hospital policies
