Medical Assistant

Job Summary

We are an OB/GYN seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. At least 1 year experience in OB/GYN or family practice required. Familiarity with insurances and authorizations helpful.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and assist with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for provider use.
• Assist physician during examinations and procedures.
• Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic efficiency.
• Perform basic laboratory procedures like specimen collection and processing while adhering to safety protocols.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment in accordance with infection control standards and protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar medical office role with knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
• Experience working in OB/GYN or family practice medical office.
• Strong understanding of physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and medical assisting procedures.
• Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care across diverse populations
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments

Pay: $24.00 - $31.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 – 32.0 per week
