A Medical Assistant will work as a nurse/receptionist in a busy pediatric office in Lancaster and Indian Land, SC. The position requires the Medical Assistant to support the provider, who is responsible for taking vital signs, administering vaccinations, making referrals as needed, ordering supplies, providing proficient documentation and data entry, triage, providing customer service, expediting prescriptions to the local pharmacy, maintaining office integrity, and ensuring the office is well-maintained.

Duties

• Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs, recording medical histories, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit
• Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), ensuring accurate documentation of patient information, medical histories, and treatment plans
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling and documentation of medical records
• Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining procedures, and maintaining a compassionate demeanor
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment adhering to safety protocols and infection control standards
• Give immunizations
• Add immunizations to Simon
• Ordering supplies
• Assist the provider with wart removal and catheterization
• Pulling shot records
• Taking vitals, injections
• Working Monday-Friday and some weekends
• Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management tools
• Skilled in phlebotomy techniques and medication administration within scope of practice
• Excellent patient service skills with the ability to handle intake processes and vital signs accurately
• Ability to work efficiently in outpatient settings with strong organizational skills in medical office management
