Medical Assistant

Cardiovascular surgery practice is looking for a dynamic and energetic Medical Assistant, with at least two years' experience in a medical office, who has a good understanding of the cardiovascular specialty, to join our team as a medical assistant. The position is full-time.

Candidate to possess a great work ethic and must have a pleasant and positive attitude. The ideal candidate is driven, smart, detail oriented, easy to get along with (team player), eager to work and learn.

The person in this position will perform a full range of duties including, but not limited to:

• rooming patients during clinics taking vital signs and verifying and updating patient data/history/medications,
• completing physician orders; medication refills, radiology orders, lab orders and referrals, as well as follow-up of said orders and referrals
• assist front office with faxes, scheduling and phones
• performing EKG's and stress tests,
• manage the doctor's schedule, as well as other general office tasks such as scheduling appointments and answering phones, scanning and filing.

Prior experience with charting and coding is a huge plus.

Pay depends on experience, medical and dental benefits available, paid holidays and PTO.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35.0 – 40.0 per week
