Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant, you will provide administrative and clinical support to ensure the efficient operation of the medical office. You will assist providers and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The goal is to complete all activities accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner while maintaining high standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Interview patients and document basic medical history
• Organize and schedule appointments
• Check in patients and update patient charts
• Assist providers during medical examinations
• Prepare and clean treatment rooms and sterilize medical instruments
• Perform venipuncture and draw blood specimens
• Run rapid diagnostic tests (e.g., strep, flu, COVID, urine tests)
• Call patients with test results and provide follow-up instructions as directed by providers
• Order and maintain inventory of medical and office supplies
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience as a Medical Assistant
• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
• Experience with phlebotomy and point-of-care testing
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize
• Strong social perceptiveness and patient-service orientation
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational and planning abilities
• Proficiency in computer skills and electronic medical records systems

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Phlebotomy: 1 year (Preferred)
• EMR systems: 1 year (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• BLS Certification (Preferred)
• Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
