Full-Time Medical Assistant – Cardiology Practice

Busy cardiology practice in Leesburg, VA is seeking an experienced, dependable, and organized full-time Medical Assistant to join our team.

We are looking for a candidate with at least 2 years of Medical Assistant experience. Previous experience in a cardiology practice is strongly preferred; however, we are also open to candidates with solid Medical Assistant experience in internal medicine or other internal medicine subspecialties.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, comfortable working in a busy clinical environment, and able to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. The primary role is clinical, with responsibilities involving direct patient care, clinical documentation, patient communication, and coordination of testing and procedures.

The Medical Assistant will also be cross-trained to provide occasional front-desk coverage as needed, including during lunches, vacations, call-outs, and other staff absences.

Medical Assistant Responsibilities

• Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs
• Perform EKGs
• Assist with and perform stress testing
• Apply and manage Holter monitors
• Pre-chart and prepare clinical charts prior to patient visits
• Answer patient calls and respond to clinical messages
• Process medication refill requests
• Process and coordinate pre-operative cardiac clearance requests
• Complete medication prior authorizations
• Complete procedure prior authorizations
• Assist physicians and clinical staff with other patient-care and clinical responsibilities as needed

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
• Cardiology experience strongly preferred
• Candidates with experience in internal medicine or other internal medicine subspecialties will also be considered
• Must be able to speak and write English fluently
• Fluency in Spanish is preferred
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Dependable and punctual
• Detail-oriented and able to follow through on assigned tasks
• Strong communication skills with patients, physicians, and staff
• Comfortable handling patient calls and clinical messages
• Able to work efficiently in a busy medical practice
• Willing to cross-train and provide occasional coverage in other areas of the office as needed

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Position: Full-Time
Location: Leesburg, VA

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
