Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dependable, friendly, and motivated Bilingual Medical Assistant to join our medical office in Bradenton. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with patients, communicates well, stays organized, and can work effectively in a fast-paced medical office.

Responsibilities include:

• Greet and room patients in a professional and welcoming manner
• Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and medication information
• Prepare patients for examination by the provider
• Assist the physician with patient care and office procedures
• Administer injections and vaccines as directed by the provider and within scope/training
• Perform EKGs and other basic clinical testing as needed
• Prepare and process laboratory specimens as applicable
• Document accurately in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Respond to patient telephone messages and communicate provider instructions
• Assist with medication refill requests
• Process referrals, imaging orders, and DME orders as needed
• Assist with prior authorizations when necessary
• Maintain exam rooms and ensure appropriate medical supplies are available
• Follow HIPAA, infection-control, and patient-safety procedures
• Communicate effectively with patients in both English and Spanish
• Work collaboratively with physicians, front-desk staff, and other team members

Qualifications:

• Fluent in English and Spanish
• Medical Assistant training/certification preferred
• Previous medical-office experience preferred, but we are willing to consider a motivated candidate with limited experience
• Comfortable using computers and electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and customer-service skills
• Professional, dependable, organized, and punctual
• Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities
• Comfortable working directly with patients of all ages

• Primary-care experience
• Insurance verification
• Referral and prior-authorization experience
• Familiarity with EHR systems

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
