Riemer Dermatology is a busy, patient-focused practice dedicated to providing high quality medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology care. We are seeking an experienced, certified Medical Assistant who is dependable, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients, obtain medical histories, and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
• Assist providers with medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology procedures, including biopsies, excisions, injections, and other treatments.
• Prepare, stock, clean, and maintain examination and procedure rooms.
• Accurately document patient information, procedures, and clinical notes in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Process medication prior authorizations, prescription requests, and other medication-related tasks.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, wound care, and treatment instructions.
• Respond to patient phone calls, messages, and clinical inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Coordinate with providers and team members to maintain efficient patient flow.
• Follow established clinical protocols, infection control procedures, and patient safety standards.
• Anticipate provider needs and assist with additional clinical and administrative duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Previous hands-on Medical Assistant experience is required.
• Medical Assistant certification is required (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent recognized credential).
• Strong clinical skills and experience assisting providers with patient care.
• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a high-volume medical practice.
• Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-centered approach.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, take initiative, and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and learning new technology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous dermatology experience is highly preferred; specialty-specific training is available for experienced, certified Medical Assistants.
• Experience assisting with minor surgical procedures.
• Knowledge of medication prior authorizations, biologics, and specialty medications.
• Experience with dermatology-related patient education and wound care.

Important Applicant Information

This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have previous hands-on Medical Assistant experience and hold a recognized Medical Assistant certification.

While prior dermatology experience is preferred, we welcome experienced, certified Medical Assistants from other medical specialties who are interested in developing their skills in dermatology.

We are looking for someone who is ready to contribute to a busy clinical team while maintaining excellent patient care, professionalism, and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
