Medical Assistant

Job Summary

Bellamah Vein Center is seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, personable and dependable medical assistant. This is a FULL TIME position, Monday-Friday. Dr. Bellamah and his team are recognized as the leader in the treatment of vein disease and venous insufficiency. Our nursing team works closely with the providers and all team members to educate and provide state-of-the-art care to our patients.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have basic computer knowledge and be able to touch type.
• Must have excellent communication and people skills with attention to detail.
• A compassionate, positive & professional attitude with a genuine desire to help patients look and feel better
• Provide excellent patient care
• Conduct complete patient evaluations for new patients coming in for care
• Assist the doctor in procedures
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements, universal precautions and appropriate infection control principles.
• Maintain a safe patient environment, i.e. use of safety equipment: gloves proper disposal of sharp in bio-hazardous sharp containers, use of red bio-hazardous waste containers, and always proactive proper hand washing techniques.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Skill in interpersonal and oral and written communications.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Ability to work as a team; collaborate and cooperate with colleagues, physicians, staff and patients.
• Knowledge of clinical and clerical methods and techniques, office equipment and machines.
• Ability to apply exceptional customer service skills at all times.
• Knowledge of emergency policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of HIPPA guidelines.

Required licenses or certifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA/CMA)
• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
