Medical Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and administrative support in various medical settings, including dermatology, urgent care, and internal medicine. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as the ability to perform clinical tasks efficiently.

Hours: 10:00am- 6;00pm

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures
• Perform intake assessments, including taking vital signs and documenting medical histories
• Administer medications as directed by physicians and ensure proper documentation
• Conduct basic life support procedures when necessary
• Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems to maintain accurate patient information
• Schedule appointments and coordinate patient services within the clinic or hospital setting
• Prepare patients for X-rays or other diagnostic tests as needed
• Support outpatient and inpatient care by collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment
• Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical setting (clinic, hospital, or urgent care) is preferred
• Knowledge of ICD coding and medical terminology is essential
• Familiarity with EHR systems for efficient patient management
• Understanding of basic anatomy and physiology concepts
• Experience in emergency medicine or trauma centers is a plus (Level I or Level II)
• Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations, including geriatrics and pediatrics (PICU experience is beneficial)
• Strong communication skills to provide excellent patient service
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
• Experience in surgical settings (OR experience) is advantageous
• A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
• Spanish speaking a ++++

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
