Medical Assistant

• Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering phone calls; answering or referring inquiries.

• Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room;

• Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.

• Prepares, cleans and stocks exam and treatment rooms

• Provides patient education as directed by physician

• Maintain patient records while maintaining confidentiality

• Reviews and updates patient chart prior to appointment with recent medication changes and tests results

• Report patients complaints and abnormal vital signs to Registered Nurse for further follow through

• Faxes progress notes to patients’ primary care physician after visits

• Assist with filing, faxing, scanning and mailing when needed

• Assist with patient scheduling and appointment reminders

• All other duties assigned by practice administrator or registered nurse

Pay: From $16.00 per hour
