Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant works under the direction of assigned medical providers to deliver high-quality clinical and administrative support at the client facility. This role is responsible for preparing patients for exams and procedures, obtaining vital signs, performing basic diagnostic testing, and assisting providers with clinical procedures, while also completing front- and back-office administrative tasks in accordance with facility policy. Medical Assistants placed by Frontline Health Staffing must be flexible and able to perform effectively across a variety of clinical settings and specialty departments, subject to reasonable accommodation.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred

Experience: Six (6) months to one (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant required; two (2)+ years and prior specialty or procedural experience preferred for senior/lead placements

Certifications: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

Preferred / role-dependent certifications:

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

• Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), issued by the CA Dept. of Public Health Laboratory Field Services, or state equivalent

• Audiometry — trained/certified in an OSHA-approved Hearing Conservation course

• Spirometry — trained/certified in an OSHA-approved Spirometry course

• Evidential Breath Technician and/or specimen collection for urine drug testing, per DOT regulations

Specific certifications required will vary by client facility and department and will be confirmed at the time of placement.
