Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake by collecting medical histories, vital signs, and medication information using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and understanding of the process.
• Perform clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, administering medications under supervision, and basic life support (BLS) procedures.
• Support physicians with medical documentation, ICD coding, and maintaining accurate medical records in electronic health records (EHR/EMR).
• Manage appointment scheduling, patient flow, and follow-up communications to optimize clinic operations.
• Conduct routine clinical assessments based on physiology knowledge and anatomy understanding to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control protocols specific to outpatient settings like dermatology or emergency medicine.
• Support hospital medicine or inpatient teams with documentation, vital signs monitoring, and basic patient care activities as needed.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in Level I or Level II trauma centers or other specialized units to provide comprehensive patient support.

Experience

• Prior experience working in medical offices or outpatient clinics is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and record management is essential.
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical assisting procedures.
• Experience in hospital settings such as inpatient units or emergency departments enhances your ability to adapt quickly in high-pressure environments like trauma centers or urgent care clinics.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are advantageous.
• Familiarity with specialties including dermatology, geriatrics, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine will strengthen your candidacy.
• Previous roles involving inpatient or outpatient care that required attention to detail in medical records management or medical documentation are highly valued.

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
