Duties

• Deliver comprehensive online and classroom instruction on medical assisting topics, including medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, and clinical procedures.
• Develop and refine curriculum materials that align with current industry standards and accreditation requirements.
• Supervise students during clinical rotations in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals, clinics, and research settings.
• Guide students through practical skills training in patient care, documentation review, laboratory procedures, and diagnostic radiology.
• Facilitate learning technology platforms like LMS (Learning Management System) and Blackboard to enhance educational delivery.
• Support students’ academic progress by providing mentorship, feedback, and assessment of their clinical training performance.
• Contribute to research activities by publishing papers in peer-reviewed journals, securing research funding, and supporting clinical research projects related to medical assisting or healthcare education.

Qualifications

• Must have either certification of National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Proven expertise in medical terminology, anatomy, pathology, radiology, anesthesiology, psychiatry, oncology, pediatrics, neurology, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology (Ob/Gyn), family medicine, critical care, public health, and veterinary terminology.
• Demonstrated supervising experience within clinical or educational settings.
• Strong knowledge of LMS platforms such as Blackboard and other learning technology tools for online instruction.
• Experience with clinical research methodologies, clinical trials management, and medical research articles publication.
• Background in curriculum development and delivering higher education or adult education in healthcare disciplines.
• Familiarity with documentation review processes and clinical training best practices in hospital or clinic environments.
• Excellent communication skills working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds; ability to foster an inclusive learning environment.
• College faculty experience preferred; prior university teaching experience is highly valued.
• Knowledge of securing research funding and conducting academic or medical research is a plus.
• Hands-on clinic experience across various specialties such as radiology, oncology, pediatrics, neurology, internal medicine, anesthesia, psychiatry or veterinary medicine is desirable.
