In this role, you'll manage the complete billing process for our chiropractic and pain management practice, from accurate coding and timely claims submission to persistent follow-up on unpaid accounts.
If you have specialized knowledge of chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy modalities, and massage therapy billing, and you're skilled at navigating personal injury (PI), workers' compensation, and commercial insurance claims, this is your opportunity to make a real impact on a thriving, multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Why Groth Pain & Spine?
- A vital seat on the team: your work directly supports the practice's financial health and, in turn, our ability to deliver excellent patient care
- A multidisciplinary environment: work alongside Physicians, NPs, PAs, Chiropractors, Physical Therapists, Massage Therapists, Psychologists, and Licensed Clinical Social Workers
- Specialized, in-demand work: develop deep expertise in chiropractic, PT, and pain management billing across multiple payer types
- Direct partnership with leadership: collaborate closely with the Practice Manager on reporting, revenue analytics, and process improvement
- A culture that's second to none: join a practice that genuinely invests in the people who make great patient care possible

- Appeal rejections within payer-specific timeframes
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately and reconcile daily financial batches
- Identify systemic underpayments and contract variances
- Provide regular billing reports, collection metrics, and revenue analytics to the Practice Manager
Patient Financial Services & Support
- Answer patient billing questions and explain insurance benefits, deductibles, and co-pays with empathy and professionalism
- Establish manageable payment plans and coordinate with front-desk staff on outstanding balances
- Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage for specialized pain management and chiropractic treatments
Productivity & Business Operations
- Participate in practice and affiliate efforts to achieve established productivity goals
- Learn, use, and analyze the software programs utilized across the practice
Mandatory Reporting
- Groth Pain & Spine has zero tolerance for non-compliance with our policies and procedures for addressing situations that endanger the welfare of our patients, including those relating to state mandatory reporting laws
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 5+ years of medical billing and coding experience in chiropractic, physical therapy, or pain management settings
- Minimum of 1-2 years of chiropractic billing experience
- High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or a related field is a plus
- Deep familiarity with spine-related CPT codes, global surgical periods, modifier usage, and diverse payer types (Commercial, Medicare, PIP/Auto, and Workers' Compensation)
- Proficiency with major EHR and practice management billing software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail
- Discretion in handling confidential financial and patient data
- Clear, effective communication skills
