Medical Coder

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Medical Coder to review medical records and assign accurate medical codes in accordance with established coding guidelines. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding, along with a strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Review patient medical records, clinical documentation, and healthcare reports.
• Assign appropriate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on medical documentation.
• Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with established coding guidelines.
• Identify documentation gaps and coordinate with relevant teams for clarification.
• Maintain productivity, quality, and accuracy targets.
• Conduct coding audits and resolve coding discrepancies.
• Follow client-specific requirements and healthcare compliance standards.
• Meet daily and monthly coding performance targets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 25 years of experience in medical coding.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Good understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Experience reviewing clinical documentation and medical records.
• Knowledge of healthcare compliance and coding guidelines.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to meet quality and productivity targets.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPC, CCS, or equivalent medical coding certification.
• Experience in US healthcare medical coding.
• Experience in specialties such as E/M, Surgery, Radiology, Cardiology, or other relevant domains
