What they need
- Role: Medical Coder
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accurate medical coding for clinical trials using MedDRA and WHODrug.
- Develop and maintain Medical Coding Guidelines and SAE Reconciliation Plans.
- Conduct SAE reconciliation across clinical trial databases and safety systems.
- Review coded terms, synonym lists, and coding decisions for accuracy and consistency.
- Generate and resolve coding/SAE queries in collaboration with Safety, Clinical, and Data Management teams.
- Maintain coding documentation and support MedDRA/WHODrug dictionary upgrades.
- Support coding tool testing, UAT, and validation activities.
- Ensure compliance with ICH/GCP, 21 CFR Part 11, regulatory requirements, and clinical trial standards.
- Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry experience with medical coding.
- Strong hands-on experience with MedDRA, WHODrug, and SAE Reconciliation.
- Knowledge of clinical trials, ICH/GCP guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with EDC systems; Medidata Rave Coder is desirable.
- Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelors degree in Health/Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or relevant scientific/technical qualification preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
