Medical Coding Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Coding Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the Medical Coders supporting multiple hospitals, accounts, and coding specialties across physician/professional fee and hospital coding. The role ensures accurate and timely coding delivery, effective inventory management, employee development, regulatory compliance, and achievement of productivity, quality, turnaround time, and account-specific service level agreements. The position serves as the primary operational contact for assigned accounts, provides actionable insights to internal and client stakeholders, and leads timely escalation, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning for operational risks, performance gaps, and critical business challenges.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Graduate of medical-allied course. Preferably a graduate of BS Nursing

• At least 5 years of medical coding experience, including physician/professional fee and hospital coding;

  At least 2 years of supervisory/team lead experience in medical coding

  Experienced in multiple electronic health records such as EPIC, Cerner, Meditech, Athena, etc; and Coding tools such as 3M/Solventum, Codify, etc. Demonstrated experience managing multiple specialties, hospitals, accounts, work queues, inventories, and client or stakeholder relationships.

  Proven experience in productivity and quality management, auditing, coaching, performance improvement, reporting, root cause analysis, and SLA delivery.

• Current medical coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, COC, or CCS, or equivalent) is required Active PRC Registered Nurse license is an advantage.
