Medical Lab Tech

Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Graduate of an accredited MLT program and passing national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

EDUCATION:  A degree from an accredited college or university required. Degree must be in Medical Laboratory Sciences or one of the biological or chemical sciences. Laboratoary training through an accredited laboratory school preferred.

EXPERIENCE:  At least three (3) years experience in high complexity testing.

LICENSES/CERTS:  Eligible for registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT,ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT,NCA) or equivalent preferred. Medical Technician Provisional License Required.

WAGE RANGE:  $31.73 - 47.59 PER HOUR
