Medical Officer

About the role

Precious Hospital Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering quality patient care and upholding our commitment to medical excellence. As a Medical Officer, you will be at the forefront of our clinical operations, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive healthcare services to our diverse patient population. This role is integral to our mission of providing accessible, high-quality medical services to the community we serve.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history taking, physical examinations and relevant diagnostic investigations
• Diagnose acute and chronic medical conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
• Prescribe medications and provide clinical advice to patients in accordance with best practice guidelines and hospital protocols
• Manage patient care across various clinical settings within the hospital, including outpatient clinics and inpatient wards
• Collaborate effectively with senior medical staff, nursing teams and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation for all patient encounters
• Participate in clinical meetings, case discussions and quality improvement initiatives
• Provide health education and counselling to patients and their families regarding their medical conditions and treatment options
• Adhere to all relevant medical, ethical and legal standards, including infection control measures and patient confidentiality requirements
• Support the training and mentoring of junior medical staff and medical students as required

What we're looking for

• A medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognised university
• Full registration and a valid licence to practise medicine with the relevant medical regulatory authority in Malaysia
• Completion of mandatory housemanship or internship training programme
• Strong clinical knowledge and competence in general medical practice and patient assessment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families and colleagues
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment and manage multiple patient cases concurrently
• Sound clinical judgement and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• A caring and patient-centred approach to medical practice
• Previous experience in a hospital or primary care setting is advantageous
