Medical Receptionist

About the role

Working as part of our reception and administration team at KM Surgical, a busy specialist dermatology, skin cancer and cosmetic medicine clinic in Christchurch, you will be the first person our patients speak to or meet. This is an important front-of-house position where you will be warm, welcoming, well-presented and confident communicating with people from all walks of life.

Key responsibilities

• Welcoming patients
• Answering incoming telephone calls in a friendly and professional manner
• Booking and managing patient appointments
• Responding to patient enquiries
• General reception and administrative duties
• Processing payments and assisting with patient accounts
• Managing emails and correspondence
• Updating patient information and maintaining accurate records
• Liaising with doctors, nurses and other members of the clinical team
• Assisting with the smooth day-to-day running of the clinic

• Has an exceptionally friendly and professional manner
• Has excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Is confident and professional on the telephone
• Has strong administration and computer skills
• Is organised and able to manage multiple tasks
• Has excellent attention to detail
• Is reliable, punctual and takes pride in their work
• Remains calm and professional in a busy environment
• Understands the importance of patient confidentiality and discretion
• Enjoys working as part of a close-knit team
