Medical Receptionist

About the role

A friendly, reliable and professional Medical Receptionist position in a busy and supportive medical practice. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with people, communicates well and can provide excellent service to patients while working efficiently as part of a healthcare team.

Key responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and managing the reception desk
• Answering telephone enquiries and scheduling appointments
• Managing patient bookings and recalls
• Processing Medicare billing and payments
• Maintaining accurate patient records
• Scanning, filing and managing correspondence
• Communicating with doctors, nurses, pathology and other healthcare providers
• Assisting with general administrative duties
• Maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality

• Confident communicating with patients in person and by telephone
• Able to work efficiently in a busy environment
• Comfortable using computers and learning new systems

• Previous medical reception experience is highly regarded, particularly experience with medical practice software, Medicare billing and appointment management
